I just uploaded a new theme (Squible Beta) and WordPress is telling me that the style sheet is missing… But there’s a whole folder dedicated to the css files. Any idea why this is happening and how I can get it to recognize the style sheet files?

    Thanks!

  • Have a URL for us to click on and see maybe? This might help the progress on finding the problem maybe.. Or, some others use that theme, and should be able to help maybe. ??

At the moment, there’s nothing to show… WP won’t let me activate the theme, because it’s broken. I found this…https://www.thoughtmechanics.com/vanilla/comments.php?DiscussionID=63&page=1#Item_0
and I’ve set every single file’s permissions to 777 and still it’s broken. Argh.

Maybe try CHMODDING all of the/their theme files 755 once..see what happens. ?? I’m not sure about it, but that was also mentioned at that thread you replied to.

Double and triple check that the style.css file is in the right place..as well as the other CSS files.. Sometimes things get mixed up or whatever by accident.

Also, I emailed *them* about this thread.. and *hopefully* they will be over to help or something.. [crosses fingers]

I suspect I’ve done something wrong… this exact same “broken theme”/missing style sheet has happened with three other themes I’ve uploaded.

This is what happens when you let someone with a teeny bit of knowledge play where she shouldn’t. ??

It’s ok ?? Everyone has/had done this before.. ?? I made up an image that might help you understand a little better ok..?

Well, hopefully it’s not confusing.. =P

However, *some* themes place their style.css sheets in other places.. like, instead of being in with the other PHP files, like in that Image of mine there… they sometimes put it in a folder called “stylesheets” or something..

    Like:
    –default <– Main theme folder
—–images <–inside main theme folder, for images.
—–stylesheet <–inside main theme folder, for CSS files.
    —— All other PHP files..

But, maybe just check my image once and see if that might help first. =)

And there it is… When I extracted the files, I ended up with the folder with all of the files in it, inside another folder with the same name. I moved all the files to the first folder, and now it’s working.

    Thanks for your help! ??

No problem. =) Glad to hear it’s working now. =)

I have the same problem, and I missed all the style sheet for all the themes. But when I check it, the style.css file is there in all the themes, and it is in the right position. And my site host tec cannot fix it. is it a Bug? or just some plugins mess up this weak thing!
But the site still runs as good as with the style sheet functional, just I cannot change anything for any themems!
Do I need to re-install the whole WordPress 2.1?
Can anybody help me fix it?
