    Hello all,

I am having a maddening problem here…the changes I make to my style sheet are not being reflected on the site. Earlier in building the site (a child theme), I had mistakenly set all links (instead of just certain links) to have a dotted bottom border. I updated it to have just certain links with a bottom border, but the changes wouldn’t reflect on the site.

So I edited the style sheet and removed the line giving any links bottom borders, but they are still showing on the site 24 hours later. That is just one of the changes I have tried to make with no luck.

I have WP Super Cache installed, but it hasn’t been activated yet. It’s not my computers cache either, not only has that been cleared many times, the changes won’t display on other computers.

This is the fist time I’ve had this issue. Yesterday morning, all of my changes were displayed immediately upon uploading the style sheet. What am I missing?

    The site is https://www.uniquewebcopy.com.

  • Have you tried viewing your changes from another computer?

Honestly, it sounds like a cache issue to me.

Yes, sir, I have. Because it seems like it would be a cache issue, I have cleared my computer’s cache many times and I have tried it on mobile devices and 3 other computers (even having relatives pull it up on their computers). No good.

Have you considered talking to your theme’s vendors about this, or your hosting providers?

I suppose I could, but I’m pretty sure it’s neither of their problem. Everything was working as expected yesterday morning. And even this afternoon, changes I make through plug-ins and such will reflect immediately on the site.

GoDaddy has been anything but helpful, even when problems have been their own fault.

Have you tried deactivating your plugins and switching to the default theme – your site takes forever to load and the CSS never loads…

    Oh boy. Thanks WPyogi.

Yes, and that is a separate problem…

We were having the problem of the CSS not loading at all, working from a WPExplorer theme. We had deactivated every single plug-in, even uninstalled most of them. Obviously, then I assumed it was the theme.

So yesterday, I built a brand new theme on the Genesis framework, hoping that that would solve the problem, but apparently now it’s back.

GoDaddy insisted that the problems were because it wasn’t on Linux, so the site owner switched last week, but it didn’t stop the problems…

Any ideas of what would cause the CSS not to load if it’s not the theme or plug-ins? Getting really frustrated here. ??

From what we’ve seen on these forums, GoDaddy has been having quite a few major problems of late – but I don’t want to jump to that conclusion too fast. Have you tried switching all the plugins off and testing with twentytwelve? That would at least eliminate theme/plugin problems…

I should add that the site will load fine one minute, then the next, it will be amazingly slow and the style will not load at all, like you said. It could stay like that for a whole day or just for a few minutes.

At this very moment, at 3:53, it’s loading perfectly.

Yes, we did try that, it didn’t help and we had an ugly site. ?? It’s hard to keep switching themes on the site owner too when the site is her livelihood.

I will keep working to convince her to switch to BlueHost. At least they would help with the problem, even if it’s my own fault.

    Thanks again!
