“style.css” missing

    Hi all,

    I have WordPress 6.6.1 and have installed theme twenty-seventeen. And now I try to install “options-for-twenty-seventeen” by using the standard procedure as described, uploading the zip file to my WP installation. But it fails, telling me that the “style.css” file is missing. Looking into the zip, I see, that there is indeed no such file.
    When I do the same with the twenty-nineteen file, the same happens: “style.css is missing”, and no style.css file in the zipped file.
    What am I missing? Is there another way of installing these “options-for…” themes?

    Hi Michael,

    This is a pretty easy one to solve ??

    You are downloading a plugin for the Twenty Seventeen theme. This isn’t a theme. So you have to upload it as a plugin, not as a theme.

    If all you want is the Twenty Seventeen theme then you can install that by going to “Dashboard – Appearance – Themes – Add New Theme” and searching for it to install.
