Style "Continue Reading" within post excerpt

    I have the following in my theme
    <div class=”entry-content”>
    <?php the_excerpt( __( ‘Continue Reading →’, ‘yoko’ ) ); ?>

    and I would like to style the “Continue Reading”..

    I have tried a number of CSS options using div.entry-content and forum suggestions without any success and despite hunting around Google and the Codex for a “clear” explanation .

    I would be extremely grateful to anyone who could clearly explain this extremely simple task ..thank you

    I found th function in the theme function.php and managed to add a span class around it in order to style it …
