I’ve been having some connection issues with a reseller account on HostGator and we’ve been troubleshooting for about 2 weeks now. It’s not just me and I can reproduce the problems from other machines using different browsers in different locations.

Long story short, random pages will just get stuck while loading. I’ve waited upwards of 10-15 minutes for them to resolve after clicking a link. HostGator can’t reproduce the hanging, but they do see the same error messages.

To narrow down our testing, I setup a fresh install of WordPress 3.2.1 with no plugins on this same reseller account. I set up a few pages with just text and a couple of uploaded images. The site will run fine for a bit and then it will also hang, taking 30 seconds to a minute to load a page that normally clocks in at .2 seconds.

One thing we noticed using httpFox is that this fresh install site (and at least one other site on the account) will consistently throw this abort error out:

    Error loading content (NS_ERROR_DOCUMENT_NOT_CACHED)

The interesting part is that the url associated with the error is always the page with the next ID number. In other words, there is a sequential pattern to the url in the error message. When loading the final page in the series (the last page I published), httpFox doesn’t show an error because there are no pages after it.

I’m not a server expert by any means, but it sounds like a server configuration is causing these issues. Does this error make any sense to anyone here? If not, where should I look?

HostGator is being fabulous at helping me debug this problem, but they don’t have any solid resolutions yet.

Really? I did a heck of a lot of research before I even posted on this issue and can’t find any other instance of this problem anywhere, yet I have 2 sites that both show this identical problem.

I seriously doubt that anyone here is looking to solve my particular problem by searching for tags.
