I had this issue fixed. This may have returned with the Sensei upgrade?

Students can login but not Register if they’re new. I can’t find a Registration Short code for this on the website. Please help, as I have students waiting.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @heenieshe

You can enable user registration on your site from WP-Admin > Settings > General > Membership, and check Anyone can register option:

Once you have enabled this option and a user goes to a course, they will be asked to either login into their existing account or if they do not have an account on your site, they can register a new one.

Thanks for your help. This did fix it.
    How would that get unchecked?

I am frustrated with the way the registration works. It’s glitchy, which is making me consider other options.

    This, from a student…
“But it took me to a page with a list of “my” courses. The list was empty. But there was a link to click that said, “start a course” (but no specific course). I didn’t click that at first, because I thought it would just take me back to the workshops page. So I started over, and next time I did click the “start a course” link. It took me to a “draw perspective” page that indicated I had 2 previews. I was able to keep clicking, and I eventually was able to get to the perspective course with the actual videos.

    Hi @heenieshe

I believe it is unchecked by default, but I’m glad it is now working.

The registration process is something that WordPress handles. I recommend looking at other plugins that are more suitable to your needs. Unfortunately, I haven’t had any experience with these type of plugins, so I can’t recommend you one in particular.

Could you please share more details about your user’s email?

    – What was the expected outcome?
    – Is the route to get to the “Perspective course” is incorrect?
    – How is your menu organized or in other words, how are your general settings set (specifically the Course Archive Page, My Courses Page, and Course Completed Page)?

    Thanks for your help.

    – Expected outcome is that students can login and easily see their courses, and the courses they’d like to take. It’s not clear to the site user, and the route is also unclear.

How my Sensei General Settings are Set:
    Course Archive Page – Courses
My Courses Page – My Courses
Course Completed Page – Courses Completed

Any advice on a Registration Plugin from anyone would be helpful. My webhost and tech has no suggestions.

If I can get this working, I plan to get WooCommerce set up and to purchase this app. so far, it’s been a frustrating experience.

    Thanks

    Hi @heenieshe,

Just to back up a little bit, there are two levels of signing up on your Sensei site.

    – Registering on your site by creating WordPress user account
    – Enrolling on your course _after_ registering and logging in with the WordPress account.

I’ve just tried registering on your site, and I was directed to your Welcome page (the main site) as expected; I don’t believe there is a glitch on that end.

Then, I checked your courses page, and noticed that the hyperlink on the button for course registration is set to the My Courses page URL:

If a learner is already registered and logged in, they will not see the registration form, but “My Courses” page. It sounds like your learner had registered, but hadn’t enrolled in a course yet.

What I recommend is adding the link to your course on those buttons instead of My Courses page (registration page). You should be able to link to the Sensei course URL directly there, and allow users to take the course (and register as needed).

If the learner hasn’t registered to your site when they visit your course page, they’ll be taken to the registration page, and upon registering, they’ll be directed back to the course pack with the button now saying “Start Course”.

I hope that helps! Let us know how it goes.
