I have installed the plugin to check its functionality so that I can go for PRO. Facing an issue about student registration. After completion of student registration, it is going into subscriber role, no roll as student is available for selection. Please suggest what to change the role.

  • Hi Amit,

Thanks a lot for considering Tutor LMS and contacting us. Students can perform all of their necessary tasks in an elearing site with the Subscriber role of WordPress core. That’s why we have not created a new user role for the students when the Subscriber role is enough for them.

Hope you understand. Let me know if you have more queries.

    Regards,
    Mehedi

Thanks for the prompt reply, just one more clarification needed. Will subscriber get an immediate access to course or subscriber need to confirm by doing an email verification for a security purpose?

Yes, students will get immediate access to the course once payment completed. No email verification required.

ok, but in free also it is giving immediate access to subscriber without any verification of email. I observed this while checking it.

Yes, it does. Students do not need to very their email when the are enrolling in the free courses too. Most of the popular eLearning site does not ask the email verification.

    Thanks for the prompt feedback.

Whoever logged in on the website gets the role of the subscriber, before purchasing any course. that’s good

But if one of the participants buys the course, he does not get a student role

I want someone who buys the course gets a student role instead of a Subscriber role

Please help in that it is very important

    Hello @mshams,

When a student signs up with an LMS it doesn’t ensure that the student will purchase or enroll in a course which is why you will not see the newly signed up student among the Tutor students until he/she actually enrolls in a course.

Tutor LMS roles ( admin, instructors, students ) are implemented based on the default WordPress user role and their relevant capabilities.

Students are assigned the role of a Subscriber as they should only manage their own profiles and nothing else but you can change the role from WordPress Settings > General > New User Default Role.

    Good Day
How would i assign a category to a student or how could a student select categories when on the registration page?

I look forward to your reply.

    Hi there,

Thanks a lot for contacting us. I think you would like to assign a course category to a student on the registration page. To do that you will need to override the student registration page of Tutor LMS. Here is the guide to follow: https://docs.themeum.com/tutor-lms/developers-docs/override-templates/.

If you are a developer, I believe you can do that easily.

Hi did you get the solution ,

enroll now tab is not working on our website

if course is free , registered users are unable to enroll.

nothing happens after clicking the ” enroll tab” button screen shot is attached
its linked to some /#modal-login. it like nothing happens, this is specifically in case of free course
    link is something like #modal-login

    our wordpress version is 5.5
php is also upgraded to 7.4

i changed role from subscriber to student and vice versa

I tried wordPress dashboard > settings > permalinks and set that to Post name

if I make it paid and with 100% discount than it goes through proper add to cart and process works normal

Tutor lms support team is good so I have emailed to support also, here just checking if someone else faced same issue. I hope someone comes up with the solution

    Thank in advance.
