I’m trying to configure Site Kit on my site, https://revistatecnobit.com. On the page “Sign in with Google to configure Site Kit” I’ve done all steps. After I finish all, it logs me out from WP and hace to start all over again in an infinite loop.
I verified that the site ownership is complete.

    I have tried:
    – Incognito Browser
    – Deactivating plugin, uninstalling plugin, logging out, logging in, and then starting from scratch.
    – Using Safari and Chrome (both also in incognito mode)
    – 3 different google accounts
    – Removing the permissions from Site Kit in my Google Account.

Please help me solving this issue and let me know if you need further information.

Thanks for reaching out, and providing the troubleshooting steps undertaken so far. I’ve checked your site and nothing stands out that would be causing this behavior from first inspection.

If you can try the below steps please let me know if you’re able to proceed as expected. The steps will temporarily deactivate all plugins and switch to a core theme (for you only, as a logged in user).

    1. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    2. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    3. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
    4. Attempt to setup Site Kit once more

You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.

Should you encounter the same issue please share your Site Health information privately via this form.

    Hello James:

I just did all requested and unfortunately problem persists.
Also I tried on Chrome and Safari, in both cases normal and incognito mode.

I already shared trough the Google Form my Site Health Info.

    Thank you for your help.

Hi Juanpa, sorry to hear that didn’t work. I noticed there are some additional .htaccess rules from checking your provided information, with one possible cause being your current WAF rules. Before further troubleshooting steps can you inform me of the following:

    1. Did you change your site URL at any stage from when you first attempted Site Kit setup? This may include switching to a secure website (https), migrating from a staging site or moving URLs.
    2. Are you able to share a video or screen recording of this behaviour, with Chrome developer tools open. You can use a service such as Loom or RecordIt to easily create a video which you can share.

Let me know if you need assistance with the above.

    Hello James:

    Let me answer your questions:
    1. Yes I did change to https because before that on Site Kit Plugin I was receiving the message that I was using a “incompatible cache extension”. Many months ago I was already trying to install Site Kit but received the same problem, I forgot about it, but now I need it.

    2. Here is the link with the requested video: https://www.loom.com/share/f3a15bd4535a4342b101f29ef64caea1?sharedAppSource=personal_library

    Thank you

Many thanks for sharing, very useful to see what’s occurring. As your site may have been registered on the Site Kit service as non secure please attempt the below:

    1. Temporarily switch your “WordPress Address (URL)” and “Site Address (URL)” from https://revistatecnobit.com to https://revistatecnobit.com in your WordPress General Settings configuration.
    2. Log back into your site once requested and attempt Site Kit setup
    3. After setting up Site Kit undo the changes you made (reverting back to the full address with https
    4. Open a browser incognito window
    5. Attempt setup once more

Let me know how you get on after attempting the above.

    James:

Unfortunately problem persists and I never made it to step number 3.

Im attaching a video for reference: https://www.loom.com/share/388146c9c1c14a0386e5bae14beb0750

I also tried going back to https and configure site kit and problem persists.

Now site is on it on http

    Thank you

Hi JuanPa, thanks for sharing the video, sorry to hear that didn’t work. It looks like your admin panel is fully secure once logging in, despite your defined URLs as https.

Rather than suggestion some workarounds for a non secure admin panel as you’re still encountering this issue I can request a site reset on the Site Kit service if you wish. This will result in you and any other users who may have previously connected Site Kit having to reconnect each service.

Let me know if that’s ok and I can request a reset now.

    Hello James:

Please go ahead and make the request for site reset. Let me know how long will it take and when can I try again.

Do I have to do something else or just wait?

    Than you very much

For the moment you don’t need to make any changes, I’ll put through the request now. While I can’t guarantee your site can be reset today I suspect it would be tomorrow at the latest. I’ll let you know as soon as I have an update, at which stage you can try once more.

Thank you James, I’ll wait for further steps.

    Hello James:

I received an email from Google that my site https://revistatecnobit.com is ready for showing ads from AdSense. I din’t wanted to do anything until your instructions.

Right now on WordPress my WordPress Address (URL) is https://revistatecnobit.com and Site Address (URL) is https://revistatecnobit.com

    I’ll wait for further steps.

    Thank you

Hi JuanPa, great news that your side is ready to start serving ads. Unfortunately I’m still awaiting a site check on the Site Kit service for your site. Having said that you can certainly manually as the AdSense code to your site if you wish, as Site Kit can recognize this manual placement during setup.

From inspecting your site at present it looks like you’ve already manually setup AdSense auto ads, which is great. I’ll also follow up with you as soon as your site is reset on the Site Kit service.

    Hello James:

Let’s keep waiting, please let me know as soon as your process is ready.

Incredibly I haven’t done the manual setup, but it’s good that its done.

    I’ll wait for further notice.

Certainly, I hope to have this reset for you today. In relation to the ad code on your site there may be a theme or third party plugin configuration with ads features, if you check your sites source code you’ll notice some AdSense code.

    (@jamesosborne)

Thanks for your patience on this. We’ve checked your site on the service now, and there’s no need to reset, with your site setup as https://revistatecnobit.com. You can therefore attempt Site Kit setup with your site as it is currently, with both URLS defined as http.

Let me know if you’re able to proceed, after which I can guide you to making changes to reflect your https status. When accessing your admin panel to setup Site Kit you should access via http and not https.

If you happen to be redirected you to https admin panel you can add define('FORCE_SSL_ADMIN', false); to your wp-config file. I can guide you through the process if you’re unsure.
