• Good afternoon

I’ve recently taken over an already developed page from a staff member who no longer works with us and am having great difficulty taking down the ‘Coming Soon’ page that has been set up.

I have disabled all of the plugins and removed my cache and unfortunately no luck – I cant quite work out how it was put up in the first place in order to take it down.

Any help would be gratefully received.

    Thank you in advance.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,
Yes, the site says “website in progress please enquire” but it doesn’t look like that page is powered by WordPress. I’d say 98% it’s not. So you’ll need to use FTP and remove a few files. Probably index.html or index.php so that WP can take over.

    Please, make backups first ??

Thank you for coming back to me.

OK – so how would I go about accessing the FTP relevant to the site ?

If you have the FTP username and password then the FTP server address is probably ftp.cmistudio.co.uk but to eliminate guesswork I’d look for the email you got from the hosting company when you signed up. Or contact them.

Or, look for the hosting control panel. That way you can skip FTP all together and remove those files via a point-n-click GUI. Again, the address, username, and password will be provided by your hosting company.

    Good morning

So you’ve lost me a little. Unfortunately my predecessor no longer works for the company and so I do not have his e-mails or knowledge of the host or FTP access.

Is there a way to find out who hosts or where to find the host control panel ?

Thank you very much in advance.

That’s going to be difficult ?? Try using https://www.whoishostingthis.com/ but if you don’t have the username and password I doubt that the hosting company will give it to you …

Do you have access to the hosting company and the domain register?

    You definitely need this.
