Stuck while migrating from local to remote host
-
Good evening,
I am encountering difficulties in migrating from local to remote host, although following the standard procedures (working in local with Xampp, therefore: moving all the files to the server with Filezilla, then changing the info in the wp.config file, then importing the database obtained by using the plugin Migrate DB with the corrent domain).
Not sure what is wrong, it’s driving me nut. The puzzling thing is: the website appears online, but it is completely unorganized, some images are missing, the formatting is a mess; also, the wp-admin panel for the login is not working either, by accessing https://www.mydomain.com/wp-admin it gives me back an error message. I get the feeling some pieces of information are missing, like part of the database? or the folders are not all, or not in the right place?
I am using Fivestar as a template, and different plugins are installed and used throughout the website. Not sure if this info may give some hints.
Finally… in the local myphpadmin I get different “folders”: bitnami_wordpress / information_schema / mysql / performance_schema / phpmyadmin / test . Is it correct to export only the bitnami_wordpress one, or should I move the others too?
It sounds very vague I am afraid, I could maybe post some pictures to give you a better idea…
Thank you very much for your kind help!
All the best,
Sara.
