Stuck on 'Creating compressed file …'

  • I’m trying to download my image library which only consists of 226 files (around 68MB) and it keeps freezing on ‘Creating compressed file …’

    I also get the following errors listed at the top:

    Hi Dave,

    Initially I thought this error was related to PNGs. But when I tested with a couple of PNGs that I have, I am not able to replicate the error.

    Can you please send me the PNG files for which this error was shown to contact at aneeska.com ?

    Also send me a screenshot of the page when this error is displayed.

    I just had this same issue occur.

    Figured out the issue. It occurs if your image files have spaces in the name, such as:
    this is an image.jpg

    The plugin is looking for:
    this-is-an-image.jpg.

    I had previously used an image file optimization plugin on all my media library images. It made multiple versions of everything and added dashes to the file names, but left the originals alone.

    DownML works fine all the other files except those with spaces in the name.

    Once I added dashes to the filenames, no more error.

    Also, you will get the same error if the files do not exist.
