Added as right side-bar widget to page through elementor page builder. It is just stuck in loading.

Tried adding as a widget on a non-elementor page, and it loaded fine.

    Here are the settings:
    Show up to 3 posts
    Sort posts by Total views
    Time range: Last 7 days
    Post type: post

    Posts settings:
Display post thumbnail, Set size manually 50px x 50 px (Have tried reloading with this turned off, and still does not load)

Anything else not listed was left empty.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi @slimreddd,

If I remember correctly (it’s been a while since the last time someone reported this issue and I can’t check right now) this happens -and this is an oversimplification- because Elementor is interfering with WPP’s ability to load its widget data via AJAX. When you add the widget to a sidebar or to a non-Elementor page it works as intended because Elementor is not involved.

At the moment there isn’t a good solution for this unfortunately, the workaround I’m going to list below has an annoying “gotcha”:

    • Go to Settings > WordPress Popular Posts > Tools, set Ajaxify widget (under Data) to Disabled, then click on Apply to save changes.
    • Flush LiteSpeed Cache’s page cache so changes are applied right away.

And now, the “gotcha” part: because you’re using a caching plugin on your website (LiteSpeed) your popular posts will be cached by it, meaning your popular posts list won’t update until the next time LiteSpeed’s page cache expires.

    So:

    • Don’t add WPP to an Elementor-based page, or
    • Disable the Ajaxify widget feature as suggested, but then you’d need to have LiteSpeed purge its cache more often so your popular posts list is updated more frequently, or
    • Disable the Ajaxify widget feature as suggested, and disable the LiteSpeed plugin so your popular posts list can update in almost real time (although this probably isn’t a great idea).

    Pick your poison.

Thank you! Like you said, it isn’t a perfect solution, but it’s workable.
