I’m switching the location of my Updraft backup to a different Dropbox account. Whenever I save changes in the plugin and am sent to the Updraft Plus site to complete setup, it sends me back to my website. I login, but instead of completing the process, it sends me back to the same Updraft page to complete setup. I’m stuck in a loop. I’m stuck. Any advice

    Hi,

Please can you make sure you are using the latest version 1.16.26? Then, try wiping out the settings in the “Advance Tools” tab. This will reset UpdraftPlus and remove all corrupted settings. You will have to setup UpdraftPlus again after reset including backup schedule, remote storage and other expert settings.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

Thanks for your reply. I do have version 1.16.26. I tried wiping the settings and then resetting them, but I’m still having the same issue. Any other ideas? Does it matter what browser I’m using? (I’m using Google Chrome. I tried Microsoft Edge yesterday, but it was no different.)

    Hi,

Could also be due to the server’s ‘maxQueryString’ request limit.
This is the limit on the length of the arguments passed ass part of the URL (i.e. everything after the ‘?’).

Please could you ask your hosts/server admin if it is possible to increase the ‘maxQueryString’ request limit to 3500?

    Regards,

I contacted my host. They said, “Any length of MaxQueryString will work on your account. there is no block from server end.” I thought, okay, back to square one. But… interestingly, when I re-visited my site, all is now well and the backup to the new Dropbox location appears to be functioning. I took the host’s response to mean that there was not and had not been a limit on the query string, but perhaps it was changed at my request.

    Thank you.
