  • Same happens to me.
After the update to 8.5.2, my apache2 server just hangs and all websites become unresponsive.
If I disabled WooCommerce plugin in my specific WP website, and restart my server everything is fine

Thanks for reporting this issue, @edupec and @tpapazoglou! We were able to reproduce this issue in a multisite installation and we are investigating it here:

    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/44119

Can you confirm the sites where you could reproduce the issue are in a multisite?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello @aljullu .

No, error is not being reproduced in a multisite environment.

    Hi @tpapazoglou

I tried your suggested solution, but it didn’t solve the issue.

    Hi there @edupec,

I’m unable to replicate the issue even with a clean installation. However, to understand the issue further, could you please switch your theme to a default theme like?Storefront, disable all plugins, and then try to install WooCommerce again.

If the issue persists after that, if you are using Chrome, right-click > inspect and check the Console tab for errors. Usually, these are shown in red. Other browsers should have similar tools.

If any errors appear, please share a screenshot of them; you can use the snipboard.io tool to share it.

Let us know how that goes for you!

    Hi @ckadenge,

I followed your first suggestion, but issue replicated again.

I am attaching screenshot of displayed console in a fresh install of Chrome.

    Regards.

@ckadenge, please use below link to see errors instead of above imgur link that show screenshot in not a good resolution.

    Hey, @edupec!

    Thank you for the screenshot!

Have you tried deleting and downloading WooCommerce again to see if the issue persists?

This can also be an issue with the memory limit, can you please increase it and try again?

Furthermore, I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue further:

System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hello @carolm29

I did delete WooCommerce plugin and reinstalled it, but issue still persisted.

I modified my php.ini file in my LAMP server to allow up to 2 GB of memory limit. Should I increase memory limit?

In below link you may check System Status Report that I uploaded:

    https://gist.github.com/EDUPEC/a61ecc3163e2c05aadb90d0a3195d43d

No Fatal Errors were found on my log.

Thank you for tanking the time to review my case.

    Regards.

    Hello @edupec,

Thank you for sharing the system status report.

Based on your report, please try to increase your PHP Time Limit from 30 to around 1200, then try the process again and let us know how it goes.

    @ckadenge

I followed suggested steps in your previous post, but I am still having same error.

Please refer to above link to confirm PHP Time Limit modification.

    Hi there @edupec ??

Thank you for reaching back, with further details on this.

As a next step, and since the site is clearly not multisite, could you test with installing https://localwp.com/, and creating a WordPress + WooCommerce site with it, please?

The reason I am asking of this, is it provides the option to test with either nginx, or Apache — among other settings.

Below, I am attaching a screenshot, for reference.

    Hello @anastas10s

I am trying to run this WooCommerce site on a Ubuntu Server machine with a LAMP stack.

Is it possible to install and run this software of this time of machine?

    Regards.

    Hi @edupec,

Yes, you can definitely install and run WooCommerce on a Ubuntu Server machine with a LAMP stack. WooCommerce is a plugin for WordPress, which is a PHP-based application that can be run on any server that supports PHP and MySQL, including a LAMP stack on Ubuntu.

However, make sure your server environment meets our requirements mentioned here: https://woo.com/document/server-requirements/#section-1

Additionally, how about we take a different approach? Let’s switch your current PHP version from 8.1.2-1ubuntu2.14 to PHP 8.1.27. Then, let’s give it another try using a different browser.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Greetings @shameemreza

I made your suggested change. Issue still persists. Please refer below to verify PHP version changes.

I am upgrading WP Memory Limit from 256 Mb to 2 Gb. to see if that works.

    Regards.
