    Hi,

    I have been stuck on the “Step 2: Update Table Data” for very long (> 30mins) when running installer.php.

    I opened up installer-log.txt and the last few lines show:

    ************** start of last part of log **************
    ————————————–
    KEEP PLUGINS ACTIVE
    ————————————–
    Array
    (
    [0] => contact-form-7/wp-contact-form-7.php
    [1] => duplicator/duplicator.php
    [2] => flickr-rss/flickrrss.php
    [3] => get-the-image/get-the-image.php
    [4] => google-sitemap-generator/sitemap.php
    [5] => jetpack/jetpack.php
    [6] => revslider/revslider.php
    [7] => u-design-woocommerce/u-design-woocommerce.class.php
    [8] => udesign-shortcode-insert-button/udesignShortcodeInsert.php
    [9] => w3-total-cache/w3-total-cache.php
    [10] => wordfence/wordfence.php
    [11] => wordpress-importer/wordpress-importer.php
    [12] => wordpress-popular-posts/wordpress-popular-posts.php
    [13] => wordpress-seo/wp-seo.php
    [14] => wp-pagenavi/wp-pagenavi.php
    [15] => wp125/wp125.php
    )

    ————————————–
    GLOBAL DB-REPLACE
    ————————————–

    ************** end of last part of log **************

    I have tried running installer.php twice and both times it got stuck here.

    The new website seems to be working properly though but I am sure the installation process was not complete.

    What should I do next?

    Thanks!

    Hey Jacksheo,

    Looks like your having timeout issues… Here is a helpful section on the FAQs page, that should help out:
    -> Browse to: https://lifeinthegrid.com/duplicator-faq
    -> Find section: “3. Troubleshoot=> Timeout Issues”

    Hope that helps!

    I got the support guys at my hosting company to take a look and they managed to get it resolved by removing the memory limit for my account and changing php mode from 5.4 fastCGI to 5.4 CGI. That solved the problem.

    Thank you!

    Awesome! Thanks for the update…

    I am having this issue too. My website is displaying and working fine though. My hosting company is as much use as a an bow on an elephant! Tried a few things myself with no joy. Is it critical to get past the bloc keen if everything seems fine?

    If you site functions normally without issues that is a good sign, however it is going to be a much better sign if the log is able to complete the logging phase, without a complete log your not going to know how much of your database was actually updated…

    Ah thanks. I suspected as much but thought maybe I was off the hook ??

    Hosting co say I need to update php.ini file in the script folder. I can’t seem to find this?

    They also say I could try editing the htaccess file in the folder where I am installing but if the install overwrites any files there then surely that would be redundant?

    Sorry, I realise this is more a hosting and less a plugin issue but I can’t seem to get any help with my hosting company.

    Hey Sparklyscotty,

    Yeah if your paying for you host and they can’t give you any answers I would consider getting a different one… In the case of what is happening you really need the support of your host. Most shared hosting servers are configured different enough that its going to be difficult to know how and what will work on their servers.

    Some hosts allow custom .htaccess files while others don’t. Some hosts no matter what you try will never allow you to get past the PHP timeout because its set at a root level. You may have to visit the support forums for you host (if they have one) and see if anyone who is familiar with their setup can help you with what can and can’t work on that host…

    Cheers~

    Thanks so much for your response. Ill look into moving hosts.
