• I am trying to move my blog data over to the new host (godaddy). I was able to save my file wordpress.date.xml. Then I changed the name servers at godaddy to standard. Then I figured I did that too soon so I changed them back to ns1.wordpress.com. So now I am using Filezilla to try and download my wp-content on wordpress then upload it to godaddy. Hopefully that is correct so far??

My problem is I can’t connect on Filezilla. I am using
HostName: https://ftp.momof2athome.wordpress.com (have also tried without ftp. in there)
Username: my wordpress user name (have also tried my email address)
    Password: My wordpress.com password
    Port:21

I am getting a connection time out.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

    Thank you!

  • According to wordpress.com

“We do not allow FTP (File Transfer Protocol) access to any WordPress.com blogs. Please see the information below on alternatives to using https://FTP.”

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/

From the same page, I quote
“If you are trying to transfer your blog and its content to a new host please check out this support doc for more info on how to do it without FTP access.”

Please refer that page for more information
