I have just installed Sell Media, and have managed to get it half-working, but I am confused how Sell Media is supposed to work.

I am only getting one (original) size of image in FTP uploads directory, and no matter which size I purchase, the download link is only the original size too.

BTW I have WP Settings > Media set for Thumbnail 80×80, Medium 300×300, Large 1024×1024. Each image has 5 copies in standard WP upload folders: original, 3 above, and 1 624px wide (twenty twelve featured).

Is Sell Media supposed to create listed sizes on upload? because it isn’t. Are there some instructions somewhere I’m missing?

Also, I was expecting Collections to be listed at the main URL. All I see are the entire list of uploaded images with no folders. Do I have to manually create links for each Collection?

Finally, I noticed that the purchase procedure creates a user with the email address as the username, with type Customer. This is fine, but there seems to be no branded login page. Customers have to use the WP login. Is that correct?

I’ve just updated to 1.5.3, and now the image download links don’t work at all. It downloads a zero-byte file called sell_media.

I tried to get support from the author website, as I haven’t had any response here, but it’s asking for money!

I want to buy the watermark add-on once I get this working, but it’s not looking good at the moment.

I thought maybe I needed to upload images again, so I added a new one and tried to buy it. This time I downloaded an image, but it was exactly 512×512 pixels (as specified in prices/sizes) even though the original image was rectangular. Oops. Maybe I should only specify one side? I’ll experiment further.

Meanwhile, if an author does visit, please can you look at the rest of the original post above, re Collections and login?

Okay, just in case it’s too hidden, here it is again…

    1. I was expecting Collections to be listed at the main URL. All I see are the entire list of uploaded images with no folders. Do I have to manually create links for each Collection?

    2. I noticed that the purchase procedure creates a user with the email address as the username, with type Customer. This is fine, but there seems to be no branded login page. Customers have to use the WP login. Is that correct?

Sell Media creates the additional sizes when the image is download from the buyer.

    1. Collection links can be found on the admin, click on “Sell Media” –> “Collections”, hover over any collection then click “View”. This is also viewable from the single item page, in the sidebar there is a link for “Collections:” in between File ID and Keywords.

    2. Custom login would best be handled by a plugin outside of Sell Media.

    Hi, Zane.
The original question is an old post now. There was no need to reply at this stage really, as the resizing thing has since been addressed in updates, and the login form feature has been added.

However, I am interested to hear that you recommend using a separate plugin. Is there one in particular that you suggest?

I don’t have a particular plugin to recommend for customizing the login. I would suggest looking in the WordPress plugin repository.
