structured data items are invalid after latest update

    Hi,
    I am working with SEMrush to maintain my websites, and after the latest Yoast update, I started getting this error:
    structured data items are invalid
    A value for the item.name or name field is required for a nested ListItem.

    When I test the URL on Google’s rich snippet tool I don’t get any error message.

    Also, I have tried disabling the breadcrumbs but when I test the URL with Google’s rich snippet tool, I still see the breadcrumbs.

  • Every end of the month i send SEMrush reports to my clients, and this time it will be full of errors ??
    This can cost me lot !
    Please Yoast can you contact SEMrush and work on this together? Because it seems that it only came with the 16.2 version of yoast, what have changed there ?

    I totally agree with you.
    We send the reposts to our customers and look like the stupid ones.

    @theinvisiblehan that’s ok, I can understand the bluntness / frustration.

    Semrush is one of the parties that we’ve immediately reached out to, and from what I understand (I do not maintain the communication with them), they have been working on this for the past weeks. So I expect them to fix this on their end soon. We did not mention any third parties in the article for the sole reason to not “throw them under a bus”. We are communicating with multiple third party SEO tools on this matter.

    And we indeed do not make the call if it makes sense. We follow schema.org guidelines in that regard, and working by reference is sensible usage according to their documentation. Tools that do not follow that documentation are incomplete, which is why we suggest that our users reach out to them and point them to that article.

    OK, I don’t know if SEMrush fixed the error on their end or if Yoast did anything, but by looking into my SEMrush dashboard this morning it looks like this is fixed

    It appears to be fixed for me in SEMrush also.

    The structured data for Breadcrumbs item.name or name on SEMRush appears to be fixed.
