    Hi,
I am working with SEMrush to maintain my websites, and after the latest Yoast update, I started getting this error:
    structured data items are invalid
A value for the item.name or name field is required for a nested ListItem.

When I test the URL on Google’s rich snippet tool I don’t get any error message.

Also, I have tried disabling the breadcrumbs but when I test the URL with Google’s rich snippet tool, I still see the breadcrumbs.
    Thanks

@yoavshai We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on your site.

Are you receiving this warning in SEMrush, or in Google Search Console?

@devnihil thank you for your reply. I am receiving this warning in SEMrush

    Hi.
I am having the exact same issue in SEMrush – “structured data items are invalid”.
It is saying the structured data type is “Breadcrumbs” and the affected fields are as follows:

    Field: item.name or name
Issue description: A value for the item.name or name field is required for a nested ListItem.

SEMrush is listing these as Errors (I have over 1,400), so it considers them pretty important.

    Hi,
same “Breadcrumbs” issue with SEMrush too, it’s basically targetting all posts on our website

I have exactly the same issue on EVERY website that uses Yoast SEO, free and premium versions alike.

Google’s Rich Results Test say “Page is eligible for rich results All structured data on the page can generate rich results.” for all the websites, but Semrush is penalising Yoast SEO for this matter.

Extremely serious to Semrush, as Semrush took one of our websites from a 97% site health score to 74%, purely because of this matter.

    Hello @yoavshai @davejnmartin @imbeard @theinvisiblehan

Thank you for reporting this issue regarding the SEMrush report audit.

We are aware that some users are being notified of the missing ‘item.name or name’ field for the breadcrumbs from the SEMrush report.

We’ve checked with our developers and in-house SEO expert. They can confirm that our Yoast SEO schema.org structured data markup is correct

If you check some of the reported URLs on Google’s Rich Results Tool or Structured Data Testing Tool, you can find that there shouldn’t be any warnings or errors related to what is being reported by SEMrush.

This seems to be a false alert related specifically to how SEMrush and Aref parse the data. We have already reached out to both companies to resolve the issue, but believe that for now, it’s safe to ignore this alert.

    Hi @mikes41720 @devnihil @yoavshai @davejnmartin @imbeard

I’ve spoken to Dmitry at Semrush and linked to this thread, who confirms:

Yes, this is a known issue regarding breadcrumbs. This situation is a top priority for our devs and soon it will be fixed.

Thankfully it seems to be a false positive type issue.

Anxiously waiting for this to be remedied. Clients that have this pop-up on their dashboard become alarmed. I checked out this forum before contacting our Theme developer.

@theinvisiblehan Thanks for confirming it’s a false positive, and if you should need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Glad I found this. Was tearing my hair out trying to fix it – exact same report on all pages through SEMRush for breadcrumbs, but Google Rich results reports them as fine when randomly sampling pages throughout. Seems to be a false positive.

Same issue with SEMRush audits on 3 sites. So glad I found this thread as well!

Any news ? i have the same issue …

I’m having the same issue. So obviously, no update. When can I expect an update?

I am also having the same issues with our website, please provide the solution as soon as possible.

    Here is the screen.

Spotted this issue straightaway on all websites listed with SEMrush. Glad that they admitted its them not me/us. However no solution as yet.

Starting to piss me off. If they don’t sort it out soon then will move back too Moz Pro
