    Hello guys.

Such a nice theme, good job!

However, I noticed that Google Webmaster Tools is pointing some structured data errors since I’ve picked Tortuga. It says that ‘author’, ‘entry-title’ and ‘updated’ designations are missing. I think that it’s necessary to change the code in single.php or something, but I don’t know how to do it. Could you help me, please?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for using Tortuga.

The theme includes the necessary author, entry-title and updated classes. You can check the structured data on https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool?hl=de with our theme demo: https://preview.themezee.com/tortuga/

Please make sure that you do not turn off the post meta in the settings because the author and updated classes are used within the author meta and date meta.

If you have chosen a static page as homepage it will also not include any post classes. Therefore there are always some URLs where the classes are missing, because static pages do not have them.

    Best,
    Thomas

    Hi,

I am having exactly the same issues with Tortuga Theme as you mention tiagoldantas.

In Structured Data using Google Search console.

    All of my pages show
    Missing: author
    Missing: entry-title
    Missing: updated

And all my posts are showing
    Missing: author
    Missing: updated

I have been online to see the “experts” opinion on how to solve the problem cos it is kinda driving me crazy. I would seriously like to solve these issues but don’t really want to tamper with the backend of the theme.
With my limited (non existent) knowledge of script I am not able to verify is the online forums are giving correct advice. So I am not touching anything.

Finally the gentleman who knows!! I should have come here first with my question instead of trawling the internet.:(

Thomas it was nice to see your super rapid response to tiagoldantas question.

I wonder if you could enlighten us where the scripts are located and what to look for and how to amend in order to solve the problem.

Great theme by the way, love what you have produced.

Thanks in advance for your time Thomas

    Hi there,

You can find most of the code in the /inc/template-tags.php

Please be aware that not every single page needs all these classes and Google will notice for some URLs that structured data is missing.

For example: WordPress themes usually do not display the date or author on static pages. Therefore these data is missing in most themes by default, even the standard Twenty* themes.

    Thomas
