  • Hey, Looks like you have “Show author name with posts?” turned off in the theme options > blog options.

That is why you don’t have the author tag that google is looking for. It’s not an error like your site isn’t working it just an error in that google is looking for micro data in the post and author is missing. Depending on what your going for and how you want google to interpret the site would determine how big of a deal this is. But you can make it go away by simply turning the author name back on.

    Hi,
I have the exact same problem. I am using Pinnacle free.
I have now enabled the option “Show author name with posts?” in “blog options”. I hope this will fix the problem.
With regards to Authors, I was wondering if I should enable or disable the option “Exclude user from Author-sitemap” in the User option in the WordPress Dashboard. Does this have any impact on the “Missing: Author” message on Webmaster? Does this create any conflict with the Pinnacle theme option “Show author name with posts?”
    Thanks,
    Flavia

The “Exclude user from Author-sitemap” is part of an SEO plugin like yoast. it only has to do with your sitemap. Not your structured data. Enabling or disabling is only determining what will be in your sitemap.
