stripped down bare bones version

  • First off, this is a great plugin! I look forward to its development and will use it for several sites.

    For a specific site I’m working on I could use a bare bones version.
    Without the Tiny editor (or with just Bold and italic) and without the admin stuff on the right. (Link to backend editor, more option, etc.)
    and also without the media add box above title.

    I am working on a site for a 3rd grade classroom that will be used for practice writing.
    The students will not have access to the backend and should have limited editing abilities. The students will only have access to their own post for viewing and editing.
    Ideally when the student views their post they can start editing with out having to click “edit post”. Just a button to update.

    I have minimun coding skill, so not sure where to start or what code to take out. Any suggestions would be great.

    That’s an interesting use of it. You could hide the ‘admin stuff’ with CSS. You can’t really change the TinyMCE toolbar at this point, but in the future it will work just like the back-end toolbar where you can filter the buttons with code. You could also go straight into edit mode by filtering or redirecting the post permalinks. I can show you later.

    May I ask a bit more about the use? Are you a teacher and is this for school?
