Stripe Test Mode Enabled. But Not Showing In Checkout

    I’ve installed and enabled Stripe test mode. However, the payment method is not showing up in checkout. I’ve created my Stripe account and added the two Test Secret and Publishable keys into the fields. This is my last resort and can’t seem to find the solution.

    Hi there,

    The reason you are not seeing Stripe on your checkout page, is that currently your checkout page is not secured. You need to be using an SSL certificate on your checkout page, as this is a requirement of Stripe.

    Your web host can help you with setting up an SSL certificate. We recommend using an SSL certificate on your entire site, but at the very least your checkout page will need to use it.

    Once your SSL certificate is properly configured, you can force an SSL connection on the checkout page. This setting is found under:

    WooCommerce > Settings > Checkout >Force secure checkout

    Hi Support,

    Thanks for the reply. Do I need an SSL certificate for Stripe in Test Mode? I’ve used Woocommerce Stripe Payment Gateway plugin on several other websites I’ve set up and have been able to put the site on Test Mode without the SSL certificate.

    Yes you will still need an SSL certificate while in test mode. If you are using the plugin on a staging/test site, you can use a self-signed certificate. This will cause a warning error in your browser, but you can still manually proceed to the checkout page ??

    Hi Phil,

    I was able to install an SSL certificate to my page. However, Stripe Payment Gateway still does not show when enabled. Instead, I have installed both Paypal and Braintree Payment Gateway. Both works flawlessly. It just seems like Stripe Payment Gateway refuses to show on the Checkout Page.

    Any ideas? I can provide login credentials for you to look at if possible.
