Stripe Secret Key

  • I got this email from Stripe saying the my secret API key is publicly visible. I rolled that key and created a new one. Unfortunately, I got another email from Stripe saying the same. I’ve had to roll the key three times and I’m still getting this warning.

    I went to WP-Dashboard>Settings>Checkout>Stripe>
    …sure enough…the Stripe Live Keys are showing. What is the fix to this issue?

  • Yes, the secret key is showing in plain text in the site’s source code. I got the same email. This is a big security issue and needs to be fixed.
