Thank you Paulo, must have missed the update it didn’t show up because of outdated WordPress.

However, having updated both (wp to 6.2.2 and wc to 7.8) is not helping. Clicking the “Dismiss” buttons doesn’t do anything. Throws a crash in javascript console:

How can I get rid of the annoying message?

Can you update to the (now) latest version of WooCommerce (7.8.1), make sure all server-side cache is flushed, and let us know how it goes, please?

Hi, I’m not able to dismiss admin messages and after trying, the browser console shows the same “Uncaught (in promise) Error”.

This is occurring on a site running in a network installation while other sites in the same install do not have this issue. All sites use the same theme and the same (other) plugins, so I would guess this is not a conflict with another plugin.

I tried disabling all other plugins and switching to the default theme using the Check Conflicts plugin but the error remains…

I should maybe note that at least one of the admin messages in question appear to be relatively old ones: one about the Promo Codes page being moved to the Marketing section with a button to remove the legacy admin link, and another about a security update to 6.3 with a link to https://developer.woocommerce.com/2022/03/10/woocommerce-3-5-10-6-3-1-security-releases/.

Could one of these messages itself be causing the error?

Follow up question: is there a way to manually remove WC admin messages from the database maybe?

Good point – I remember the Promo Code message too, it was similar annoying but seems to have gone now (maybe I have removed it by hand editing the database, don’t remember unfortunately).

I’d rather see things work the way they should instead of fixing stuff by “hacking” the database.

Thank you for trying our previous suggestions!

There’s already an open report about this, it appears to primarily affect localized (non-English) sites: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/pull/38967

While I can’t confirm exactly when we’ll issue the fix, you can keep an eye on the “Milestone” field on the right side of the page. It should be updated once the fix is approved.

As for the workaround, you can try navigating to the wp_wc_admin_notes table, locating the notice by searching for the message and changing its status to actioned.
