• The STRIPE PLUGIN fraud prevention tool is a fraud in itself. It does not work properly because apparently it is not properly integrated with woocommerce, which is not their fault of course….according to Stripe anyway. Mainly, the address verification system (AVS) will give you a false impression the zip code is a match with the billing address on the credit card statement. As a result, none of the other fraud indicators are reliable.

However, Stripe clearly advertises that their AVS and their proprietary fraud prevention system is the best system ever created. So that makes it a fraud and also a defective plugin. But the plugin is “free” and we should be grateful for their generosity. Never mind that they still charge a hefty commission on your sales.

Fortunately, I am not based in the US and found a local company that has a working “free” plug in and they charge a lower commission. Plus, they are not pretending to be something they are not.

    Hey @mmhgloba,

Our WooCommerce Stripe plugin doesn’t actually perform any fraud prevention screening. It passes the billing information directly along to Stripe and any fraud screening is done on their end and by your customer’s Card Issuer.

I’m not sure of the specifics of the transactions you discussed with Stripe (as we don’t have any access to their system), however, their team should be able to determine why your Stripe account may not be flagging transactions when it should (or vice versa).

Often card issuers will approve a transaction even though it has not passed AVS checks. They run their own fraud checks and sometimes will approve a transaction that fails AVS. We don’t include any options in our plugin to override that approval.

Hi, thanks so much for taking the time to make excuses and pass the buck. That’s another thing that is so annoying about Stripe and their Woocomemrce plugin, they like to use their customers as a volleyball between Woocommere and themselves. I am unsubscribing from this thread, you guys are sleazebags posing as “happiness” providers and you have already wasted a lot of my time.
