I was using the Sripe payment extension for quite a while already, but a few days ago it stopped to work. It connects fine with Stripe, but when trying to finalize the payment, it says the Credit Card was rejected. Neither in test mode nor in production I can get it to work. I am using version 7.9.1 of the plugin at the moment.

  • Hi @martinneumannat!

    Thank you for reaching out.

I understand. There could be several causes to why this is happening. Have you made any recent plugins or theme updates? Because if it was working correctly and suddenly stopped, I wonder if some updates were made that might be causing a conflict with Stripe.

As a first step, please try performing a conflict test by temporarily switching your theme back to Storefront, disabling all plugins except WooCommerce and Stripe, and then checking again if the issue persists.

If that solves it, reactivate the theme first and check again. Then, reactivate your other plugins, testing after each until you find the one causing conflict.

If you cannot perform a conflict test on your live site, we recommend creating a staging site using the WP Staging plugin.

You can find more info about how to test for conflicts here: https://woo.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

If, after performing the conflict test, the issue persists, kindly provide us the following to further check:

    • Your System Status: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select ‘Get system report’ and then ‘Copy for support’. Once you do this, you can paste it here or use a service like Pastebin.
    •  Fatal Error Log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available).

Let us know how that goes for you!

I am using version 7.9.1 of the plugin at the moment.

Just to note, version 8.0.0 of WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway was released on February 29. Did you already have a chance to upgrade to it, and see if the issue persists, or otherwise?

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

I actually figured out it was an incompatibility with my funnel plugin. So I downgraded everything to a compatible version and it started to work. Somewere in the future I need to check with them about a feasible upgrade path and test it again before going into production.

    Hi @martinneumannat!

Thank you for the update and for sharing the solution that worked for you.

We are glad that things are now working as expected.

Somewere in the future I need to check with them about a feasible upgrade path and test it again before going into production.

In this case, you can?create a staging site?(a replica of your site to perform tests) using the?WP Staging?plugin to test changes or updates before going into live mode; that way, you can ensure smooth transitions whenever you need it.

I see you marked this topic as resolved; if you have further questions, I recommend creating a new one.

    Cheers!
