Hi there, I am using the plugin called WooCommerce Stripe Gateway and would like the fee to be passed onto the customer for using its services. I have enabled the part of your plugin called Gateways Fees and Discounts. With stripe, I was testing it out using a bogus credit card number for a while, and this 4% fee I was charging was showing up on receipts. Now that I took the testing credit card number feature away, it is no longer charging a 4% fee. Could you help me please?

  • Hi,

I’m not sure I understand. Gateways Fees and Discounts allows adding additional fees on top of the order and it does not interact with Stripe at all. You could set it to add 4% fee every time though.

Correct me if I’m wrong but from what I understand stripe adds a fee on their payment system, outside of WooCommerce interface and therefore there is no way of knowing the fee in WooCommerce. In that case it is not possible to show this fee yet.

Hi there, thanks for your reply. Yes you are right, Stripe charges a percentage to use their service, so I was going to charge a flat rate of 4% if they use credit to cover my cost. I set that up with your plugin but it doesn’t communicate with Stripe it seems.

In your plugin, I have e-transfer, cash, and cheque. None of them have extra fees (obviously) but the one called Credit I have set at 4%. So how does that work then? If it cannot communicate with Stripe, how can the 4% be charged for credit. If you could explain a bit more how to do this, that would be great!
