• Is there a STANDALONE plugin which strips out any kind of formatting that gets added when you pasted in from Word, Email or another app? I know “Wysi-Wordpress” includes that, but I’ve already installed and the uninstalled that plugin for other reasons and ideally just want a plugin for this single issue.

    thanks,

Handy Solo posted about this exact feature on his blog a couple of days ago. I can’t find the link right now, but if you’re using Firefox hit ALT-SHIFT-V and it will open extra options in the editor window (assuming you’re using TinyMCE).
In there is two options – “post from word” and “post as plain text”.

I believe that one of these will do what you need.

Is this something which works for Firefox only? This sounds like a good tip but the users of the blog will be on Mac and Win, in who knows what browsers, so I cant really control that.

No, it’s not just FF. In IE use Alt+V. I can’t say for the others as I don’t have a Mac.

I suspect there will be something similar for Opera and Safari.
