    Hi there

I have a free course set up that has a quiz in it. The site is set to use Strict mode. I have a quiz question at the end of the course that asks the user to confirm if they have watched all the videos.

If they select false, the quiz is marked as a fail. In Strict mode this should mean the course is not marked as complete. However the Quiz is marked complete regardless and users can complete the course and receive a certificate.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello @revolvermag,

Please be informed that autocomplete feature was designed to help users complete the course but when you enable autocomplete then strict mode will fail to fulfill its purpose. We do not recommend enabling autocomplete if you wish to use strict mode.

That is the point and its an issue in logic!!! I don’t know why you keep providing the same answer the rest of the folks have already provided and have agreed as a bug or issue. It is a BUG!

Auto Complete Course on all Lesson Completion

If enabled, an Enrolled Course will be automatically completed if all its Lessons, Quizzes, and Assignments are already completed by the Student

     Strict

Students have to complete, pass all the lessons and quizzes (if any) to mark a course as complete.

This “pass all the lessons and quizzes” is not accurate. Even if you fail, it will Auto complete. We’ve requested for “Auto Complete” to simply include the logic or option to only Auto Complete if the users PASS the Final Exam, for example.

It should be more than possible to enable both together. Just like all other course providers who offer similar functionality. Its getting a bit embarrassing at this stage to be honest, that you don’t seem to understand the obvious flaw in logic here

    Dear @chelseacarson08 @revolvermag @lwhwill @splitter00

We have introuduced the strict mode for Quiz correct or incorrect mode earlier in Tutor LMS if you are using latest version of Tutor LMS then you will get this feature.

If anyone failed in quiz then the quiz will not mark as complete. Only it will mark as complete when the quiz is answered correctly.

It does not work and im on the latest version. Also, did you guys test with a certificate? A certificate of completion also gets sent out to users even if they fail the last quiz.

    Dear @revolvermag

Then please send email: support at themeum dot com. We need to troubleshoot your site.

I have. Several times and it goes against what you ae saying. This is the last answer:

“Please be informed that Auto Course Complete on all Lesson Completion will complete the course whether students pass or fail quizzes.”

Also, did you guys test with a certificate like I mentioned? A certificate of completion also gets sent out to users even if they fail the last quiz.

Can you confirm this is working when autocomplete is turned on as well?

    To be clear.

If strict mode is on, no quiz should be marked compete unless it’s passed. This includes if auto complete is on. So until the study dent has passed all quizzes and all lessons the entire course should not complete nor should a certificate generate.

@chelseacarson08 They suggested turning on Content Drip, which sort of gets us there halfway as I also added an additional “survey” after the quiz to circumvent the auto complete. After you turn on Content Drip, you’ll need to enable ‘Course content available sequentially’ in the course, which will then give you the option to enable ‘Passing is Required’ on the Quiz itself. Please test this out and let me know how it goes. What this guy is saying is simply false info.

Thanks. It’s such basic functionality that should be standard for course providers so think I’ll look at other options. This ticket has been open for ages and they’ve not only failed to fix, but failed to even understand the issue.
