    Hi Todd,

To restrict content to only customers who have purchased, you would need to use the Membership add-on for Exchange. There isn’t an option to restrict content to anything other than a membership product.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,

    Elise

Hi, is that confirmation that access can be restricted to only those who have purchased it without creating a membership level for each and every product in your store?

    Hi iamlmh,

I’m not sure I understand your question.

You can restrict multiple items to one membership product, if that’s what you’re asking.

If not, just let me know exactlly what you’re trying to accomplish and I’ll see if I can help.

    Thanks,

    Elise

HI, i think we need to define terms first.

Digital product = an item I am selling in my store
Membership – a paid membership subscription to my site

I have digital products for sale in my store/marketplace, I also will have a paid membership/subscription with member benefits.

The items in my store are available for purchase to the general public, i would like them to be able to purchase 1 or many products and access them from their free membership. Giving them only access to the digital products they have purchased.

For paid members, one of the benefits will be a discount on items in the store but again, they will only have access to the digital products they have paid for.

    Does that make sense?

    Hi iamlmh

All products, no matter the type, are open to purchasing by anyone who comes to the site unless you specifically restrict the products to a Membership product.

There’s not currently an option to offer products at a different price for members than for non-members. This is a feature request which you can vote for on the Exchange Roadmap, but I don’t have a timeline for when it will be added.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,

    Elise

Hi, thanks. I guess I am still not expressing myself well enough.

I would like access to purchased digital products to be based on what products a customer has purchased, not on a membership level.

For eg: Customer buys 3 products out of 10 in my store, once logged in as a member they can access those 3 products only.

Could groups be used for this? Can a person be added to a group automatically once they have purchased a particular digital product?

    Thanks

    Hi iamlmh,

A customer will only have access to the products they purchased, no matter what type of product it is that they’ve purchased.

Once they have registered, they will automatically have an account. On their Account page, they will find links to their purchases, downloads and, if they’ve purchased a Membership product, they will find links to their membership content. https://www.screencast.com/t/shQVhaf0R

There’s not a way to create groups in Exchange currently.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Thanks,

    Elise

That is awesome, looks like exchange with some addons can do exactly what I need.

Look forward to being a paying customer.

    Thank You
