Hi, i’m developing a wordpress site on a test url. (still no live site and visitors).
The default language (NL) need to be translated to 1 other language (EN)
Before installing weglot i installed WP wordcount to know +/- how many words needed to be translated.
    The plug counted: 1600.
Installing Weglot gave :1850 ( ok, same ballpark,no problem)
However, after 1 week without adding any extra webcontent i noticed next count: 3500. Doubling figures?
Running WP wordcount again: still gives 1600.

After investigation i noticed weglot translates also my gravityform test-entries Even if they are filled in in English.
Also default errormessages (allready translated and in English by gravityform plug) / dates / names etc are being “translated” and added to the wordcount.

    some examples:
entry form: “test uk form what do you” translated to “test uk form what do you”
    12/05/2021 translated to 12/05/2021
    Steven translated to Steven

Still my test entries could never be +/- 1900 words.
So besides those entries there is still something else added to the count.

Your feedback is more than welcome.

    Update:
Suddenly some links to translated pages redirect to default language.
But was working a whole week fine.
After some investigation i found an article that state: a / needs to be added at the end of the URL.
Which i now did and the links works fine again.
English content is directed to English translated page.
Once again: I want to state clear:
The pages where allready being translated before and added to the initial wordcount.
Linking without the / worked also fine uptill today.

So, this in mind: guess what ??
    Wordcount trippled now: 6555 words.
Meaning weglot is translating again those pages allready being translated.

Your feedback is more than welcome.
    Thank you

    Hi @lobodesign ,

pages are not retranslated because a slash has been added. In fact, we check the nodes. If a node is exactly “hello my site is cool” even if it appears on all pages, it will only count as 5 translated words.
If on the other hand it appears on another page in “hello my site is REALLY cool”

The 2 nodes are different, so it will count as 5 words + 6 words, or 11 words

The word counter can grow if there is dynamic content, such as search results, or forms that inject content once validated or if you edit its original content

May can you put your site online, so I can take a look ?

    Hope it’s help you

    Hi Edson,
Thank you for your efforts and reply.
However in the meantime I have had contact with your support@.
They confirmed that indeed your way to store all the translations can be strange and unstable, and is one of the main reasons why customers suddenly can see their wordcount increase a lot.
So I asked to delete my account, which has been done, as I’m a developer working for a client who wants to have his site translated, so you understand I cannot implement an unstable plugin and looked elsewhere.
    Still:
Thumbs up for the good support ( i had a very pleasant and professional contact with your support@); and above all: the open mind to recognize that your product still needs to be improved. Which is a very good thing.
I hope to see it stable working in a very near future, and surely will come back to test it out once again at that moment in time.
    Best regards.
