Strange URL Created and Redirect

I think you should set the custom permalink structure. Go to Dashboard>>Settings>>Permalinks then choose Custom Structure ; An Example. https://www.yoursite.com/%postname%/

Thanks for the advice. Have selected the “Custom Structure” hit return and the site refreshes and places me back on “Post name https://beatsciatica.com/sample-post/“

Which is where it was before.

I have just rerun the audit and like before I am still left with theses annoying redirects here is just one:-

The link to “https://beatsciatica.com/?p=7” has resulted in HTTP redirection to “https://beatsciatica.com/beat-sciatica-guide/”.

Is it possible that it will only not redirect my new posts/pages and that I will have to tell the search engines (somehow) not to be redirected?

Whenever you create any post/page, wordpress generates unique id for each post/page. Whereas from the above permalink you are seeing id 7. Both are different permalink structure to view the same content. Basically its not redirecting. Since you have set custom structure in your site, make sure you are display all the custom urls in your site.

Are you sure that “Post name https://beatsciatica.com/sample-post/” exist in backend ?
