Strange redirection issue on home page
-
This is going to take a while to explain, for which apologies.
My WP site was originally set up in a /test directory hidden under a static site, and there are 100s of references to this directory in the d/b, almost all to GUIDs as far as I can see, as we might expect. I moved the installation to the root and everything worked fine in IIS/Windows. There is now no /test directory on the existing site and the thing works.
I have just set it up identically (ha!) on a new UNIX host in the root, using the same domain (via a hosts file as I haven’t changed the DNS yet while I test it). It all works EXCEPT in the front end – any menus/links referring to the home page (/index.php) redirect to /test/index.php and get a 404. All the other pages and posts work perfectly.
The site_url and home are both set to the root. I’ve recreated all the permalinks.
There’s no mention of the test directory in .htaccess (or in the web.config on the original server.)
I’d be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction where else I should look for this. As a last resort, I’ll try rewriting all the GUID URLs if I have to, but would rather not – I’m not convinced they are where the problem lies.
