I had a strange occurance with a PayPal payment. The buyer received a receipt he said from PayPal which showed the payment email address coming from anotehr email addresss of ours from another site.

I checked all the settings on the subject site and none of the email addresses for anything show that other email address.

It is true that the subject site was duplicated from the site which contains the incorrect email address, but after we duplicated the site we changed all the email addresses within every aspect of EDD to show our new email address.

I also checked our PayPal account and the old/wrong email address was still associated with our PayPal account, but we have now removed it.

So I am not sure how to get PayPal payment receipts coming from our site to show the correct email address now. Since the old/wrong address has also been removed from PayPal at this point I am not sure what PayPal is going to send people.

I am also not sure if this issue is happening on the EDD side or on the PayPal side, but I assume maybe it is our site since that is where the sales are being made from.

Perhaps I need to remove the PayPal account from the EDD settings and reestablish to get it to associate with the correct email address?

    Thanks…

As long as you have updated the email in EDD settings, that should be all you need to do. If it’s still sending receipts with the wrong email, you’ll want to contact PayPal and ask them to confirm your account email is updated.

Yup, EDD settings are updated and were correct to begin with. Thanks.

Now that I have removed the old email address form my PayPal account is there a way I can do a test purchase to see if it is still using the wrong email before I contact PayPal?

    Thanks…

I would create a 99% discount code and then do a real purchase to test it.
