• Trying to customize a theme and now found odd glitch: I added a widget area to the main blog page (index.php). and then put the category drop down in it. I click on a category. So far so good. I click the arrow to go back to the main blog page. It goes back for a split second but then redirects back to the category page I’d previously selected.

It only does this in Mozilla based browsers like Firefox or Waterfox. Chromium browsers are working normally. How can I get it to work right in both?

    Which theme?
    Downloaded from (URL)?

It was HTML5 Blank. I assume from here: https://html5blank.com/
I didn’t design this. I’m just trying to modify it for someone.
I have found that when I switch to a default theme it doesn’t seem to have the problem. Trouble is since this is all core functions as far as I can see (regular wordpress widgets) I can’t figure out what could be called in the theme itself to trigger it, unless its something in javascript somewhere.

This suggest some issue with your theme.

You did not mention the name of your theme, and where it was downloaded from. If you rather not, that’s fine.

If this was a custom theme, you may have to go back to your developer team and ask them to make the necessary change(s) to the theme.
