• Using Twenty Sixteen theme. Site still under construction but I believe visible (I am one of many working on it). Sample page in question:

On Sub-Wiki pages like this, the link at the top of the page makes no sense to me, eg. Fruit Facts>Wikis>Avocado. Clicking on Fruit Facts brings reader to top of Wiki, which I desire. Clicking on Wikis yields 404 error. First of all, since Fruit Facts is my first and currently only Wiki, why does it point to Wikis? Secondly, how do I get rid of “Wikis” in the link? Thanks.

Sorry, this is link for above question. Somehow a lot of question turned into a link.

    Hi ronke47,

    Hope you’re doing well ??

Can you please go to Settings > Permalinks in your admin section and set your permalinks to Post Name, if it’s already set to that just save the settings in order to flush permalinks and see if that makes any difference.

Are you looking to remove Wikis directly from the URL of from the Breadcrumbs?

    Cheers,
    Predrag

Changed the permalink but now all the links in the Wiki and Sub-Wikis are broken. I am not sure I really have the energy to rebuild them since I am still getting “Wikis” in the Breadcrumbs. It is pointing to a non-existent page, so I would like to get rid of it. Don’t care about the url.

    Hello ronke47,

When you changed permalinks to Post Name did 404 error looked like that
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/152848/Zrzut%20ekranu%20z%202016-07-08%2018-16-23.png ?

This mean that your server might not have mod_rewrite module enabled – so could you please contact your hosting provider to check that? Also please check if after changing permalinks it did change htaccess file to have new rules.

    kind regards,
    Kasia

Strangely, today I was able to change the permalink to post name with no problem. Yesterday, when the issue occurred, WordPress seemed to be running extremely slowly so something may have been going on with host provider. Thanks for your help.

Hi, just wanted to amend this to mention that a lot seems to depend on the theme. I switched from TwentySixteen to Dyad and now the breadcrumb to a non-existent Wiki page has disappeared.

    Hello ronke47,

Thanks for letting us know about the progress with resolving this issue. It is still worth of checking your server if it runs slowly.

    kind regards,
    Kasia
