    Hi

We are having a strange issue on a client live site

The product is already ranking in google searches so we know we can’t change that, unless we delist it.

In the backend, product is currently hidden, 0 Stock, Not available in Catalogue, Product changed to Draft and we know that when a Customer clicks on the link in Google that it will show the product.

    tinyurl.com/du5j5a73

And when I click on the link in Google it shows “OUT OF STOCK” there so no-one can order.

The strange thing is a Customer last night was able to Order this particular product even though Hidden, 0 Stock, and Draft and should say “OUT OF STOCK” sticker there and NO option to buy.

There is NO possibility when I click on this link to the product to actually order it as it says “OUT OF STOCK”, but how on earth does a Customer have the option to Order when it is supposed to say “OUT OF STOCK” and that’s all I see.

Do you have any ideas of what is happening as we are baffled.
Not sure what is causing this. Or is there something else we should be doing ?
    We are very confused!

    Thanks
    Kristin

    Hello @kristinubute,

Thanks for reaching out to us! The problem that you’re describing is indeed very strange as it should not have been possible to purchase the product in the first place.

Given that the problem appears on a live site, it sounds like a staging site would be a good idea. If your host doesn’t offer that option, we recommend WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site. Once you’ve created the staging site, I suggest running a plugin/theme conflict test using the following steps:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing the conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

I hope this helps to narrow down this problem.
