Strange interaction with W3 Total Cache (W3TC)

I’ve noticed that if I have a conditional processor turned on and W3TC is enabled I get a strange diaplay. The following is typical of what I see surrounding a “submit” button.
/* submit button /*]]>*/notice the extra characters surrounding where the submit button is placed.
