Strange going offs with sportspress

    Hi guys,

    After reading a good few threads here I can see I’m not alone with strange issues appearing and it seems like most are having it after the sportspress update.

    Player lists (statistics) need a refresh every time they get altered otherwise nothing but blank data, Some of my profiles are acting oddly not showing the same as others when everything looks the same from the backend.

    Like most sportspress is the heart and soul of it all especially mid-season when results are flooding in but we cannot add because of the issues.

    Please can we have a perm fix i have a couple of pending tickets to these issues my site is dead right now mid-season until this is fixed.

    Sorry i am under pressure to have this done yesterday and im unable to do this myself

    Couldn’t edit so I apologise for doubling up here…..

    I need to be able to (as before) search ALL players from every team, now I am unable to do this because I have to select a player or captain which is not an option for me as I didn’t include when adding players so nobody is a player or a captain so basically I cannot search? nor do I need to search a certain division or season (as before) search everything.

    You are saying: “with strange issues appearing and it seems like most are having it after the sportspress update” when the latest update of SportsPress was 9 months ago! Maybe an other plugin update or even a WordPress core update causing this?

    Not 9 months ago at all sorry @roch on the 12th of December helped me install it manually.
    It may be something else is causing it all I can tell you is it is all sportspress or rookie related, besides that no other strange issues around the site.

    I am dead in the water Savvas unable to add any results I’m just waiting for support ticket assistance hopefully.

    I don’t mean to sound abrupt which reading again does, so apologies it was not meant to read that way.

    Roch mentioned on another topic that those issues seems to cleared when you apply the latest WordPress update. Did you try it?

    This is word for word exactly the same issues I’ve been having and I too had to get the Sportspress Update done by WordPress/Automaatic to get the plugin updated as it was erroring out. I’ve tried on rookie theme in troubleshooting mode with every other plugin deactivated and I’m still getting the same issues with events details not appearing on the frontend with a refresh required to get the data to show and the same issues where player lists stats order is changing all by itself across all lists and if you update it then it changes back to how it should be and has always been. To echo what you say Sportspress is fundamental to my site and the guys have always been excellent and I too don’t want to come across like I’m being abrupt when I write these here and on my tickets but there’s a common issue being seen by so many now that something seems to have gone a bit wrong. I’m running latest versions of WordPress too and with every plugin bar Sportspress active and on various themes, the problems continue, and admittedly I’m no expert in any of this but on what I see in front of me I have to assume it strongly points to there being some issue with the Sportspress plugin that’s common to us all. I’m hoping someone that has posted with the same issues has found a fix and can post here as I’m dead in the water too.

    The Pro version is 2 updates ahead of the free version.

    As for the other issues, indeed, in some cases they are fixed with the latest update, but in some cases the issue is still there.

    The biggest issue IMHO is the 404 pages. I’m not able to reproduce it reliably, even when using duplicator copies of an erratic site.

    I’ll ping our dev team to see if they can shed some light on these issues, since they are indeed urgent.

    Here’s a hotfix for the “all” search issue.

    Edit the file wp-content/plugins/sportspress/includes/sp-core-functions.php (for the Pro version it’s /wp-content/plugins/sportspress-pro/includes/sportspress/includes/sp-core-functions.php )

    Line 849 and 985 replace:

    'property'          => null,

    With

    'property'          => 'none',

    Both lines have the same code, make sure to replace both.
