Strange files and folders detected

Hi there,

recently I detected some strange folders in wp-content of my wp-multisite environment. The folders have long alphanumeric names, such as ‘4470ca3b7dff570fe16c6641cf33156d’. There are nine of them, each containing another folder called ‘dist’ which contains a bunch of .json and css files (around 50 json and 2 css files) in each folder. I don’t have any issues with my multisite network, everything seems to be okay and I can’t see that it was hacked. These folder seem to belong to the real cookie banner plugin.

My questions now:

1. why are these files and folders produced?
2. Can I delete them without harming my sites?
