I have a site using your plugin that I need to revert back to a recent version due to an issue that arose. The previous version had your plugin installed with redirects in place.

When I re-install the backup version, everything else is working as it should be, but this plugin shows as being deactivated (it was active when the site was backed up).

When I click “Activate” it shows the link “Please complete your Redirection setup to activate the plugin”, like it’s a newly installed plugin.

And then when I click this link, the next page displays this error at the top of the page (screenshot): https://zavahost.com/temp/redirection-bug.jpg

And then when I continue it goes through the steps of a new plugin, and there are no redirects from before present.

I have 3 different backup services in place, and this issue is happening using all 3, so it doesn’t appear to be a corruption there.

Do you have ANY idea what the issue could be?
If so it will save us a lot of time as we have lost the many redirects we had in place.
Happy to chat offline, and pay a reasonable amount for your services to address this issue.

    Thanks.

I tested this out on both the live server, and my localhost, and same issue at both locations.

Do your backups contain any Redirection data? Is it possible the redirection tables are not part of the backups?

Three different backup services used, it would seem strange that all three would not include those tables.

So you’ve not come across this before, and/or don’t have any idea how it might be solved?

Can you point out the line/lines in the SQL file I can search for to see if the data is being saved? I can check manually, maybe re-install the site manually from the different backup sources rather than automatically.

Without knowing what the backup services are, or how they work, I couldn’t say whether it is strange or not.

You should be able to look at your backups and see whether the Redirection database tables are present – https://redirection.me/developer/database/

    Backup services are:
    – Duplicator
    – UpdraftPlus
    – R1Soft (host side)

Ok, well if you look for the tables mentioned in the link in the backup files you should know whether those services are backing up the Redirection data.

What’s strange is that on my initial testing (Duplicator plugin) it doesn’t seem like it has from the site in question, but it is doing so with a quick local demo site I tested on.

Have you heard of any issues with particular hosts with your plugin and backing up at all??

This is just a REALLY strange issue that I’m not sure where to start working out where it came from, or how to address…

Maybe there are configuration options in the backup tools to specify additional database tables outside of the standard WordPress ones?

I don’t recall any previous issues regarding this.
