Strange characters whenever more than 1 space

  • I am using WP 2.7. When I upgraded, strange characters appeared in all of my posts. I went through and fixed all of the characters from all of my previous posts, but even when I create a NEW post, I have this problem.

    I typically write sentences with two spaces following the closing punctuation. On all new posts, one of the spaces will always show a strange character once published. If I go in and remove the second space, it tends to go away. This can also happen wherever I have more than one blank line between paragraphs.

    Any thoughts as to why this is happening and what can be done to fix it?

    Well, you could stop doing that as that practice ended basically when typewriters went away but maybe we can figure it out.

    Is it the same strange character for every space? What is the URL?
