Strange behavior with search in quotes

  • If I do a search for an exact phrase in quotes (“), I am seeing strange results in these cases:

    If I search for an “exact phrase in quotes” that’s found:

    -in a post excerpt: No hits
    -in a post author’s name: No hits

    However, a search without quotes works fine for both excerpt and author.
    The options for “Index and search your posts’ authors” and “Index and search post excerpts” are checked.

    If I search for an “exact phrase in quotes” that’s found:

    -in a post body
    -in a post’s category name
    -in a post tag
    -in a custom field

    …it works perfectly.

    I’m using Relevanssi 3.1.9. Thanks again for creating such a great search engine — I love Relevanssi!

    The phrase search only looks at title, post body, taxonomy terms and custom fields. It doesn’t look at excerpts or author names.

    So, not a bug, but how the plugin works now. I’ll see how complicated it is to add excerpt (should be easy) and author (might be more complicated) support in the next version.
