    That’s a good thought. The old site lived at https://blog.glenngissler.com

    I’m confused… shouldn’t that site be redirecting to the new one?

    I 301’d the URLs within the old site that had any page rank, but I left most of the site accessible for the time being.

    From an SEO perspective that is not so good, you will have duplicate content problems – Google will not know which posts to index…

    From a troubleshooting perspective that makes things harder also, and could be even be the cause of the problems if the redirects are overly complicated.

    For example I can see that all tags are redirecting…

    Yes, I know the current configuration will cause duplicate content issues. I was planning to 301 everything once I verified the new site is working correctly.

    At the moment, all redirects old -> new are manual, so those are definitely not causing my 404s on the new site. Just very mysterious how these bizarre URLs are being generated.
