    Hello,

i’m thinking about buying the storefront powerpack.
But before i do, i would like to get some answers i hope you can help me with.

    1) Is it neccessay to use a storefront child theme to make sure that the style changes are retained when the theme is updated?

    2) If i don’t use a child theme and have made some styling changes like the product title font, are those changes retained when the them is updated?)

    3) if i made some changes are those settings retained? So when i make a new productpage i don’t need to make the same changes over and over again?

Hope to hear from you soon!

    Kind regards,
    Luc

@luctoren123 If you are making changes through the Storefront Powerpack settings, the settings are retained if the theme is updated. The settings are stored in the database and are not affected if the same theme is being used. If you switched from using Storefront to a child theme, the settings would not stay due to it is considered to be a different theme.

    Hope that helps ??

    Thank you Jesse for reply!

So if i understand correctly the best thing i can do is to still use my storefront child theme for specific css adjustments that can’t be done with the storefront powerpack.
This way i’m sure that custom css is not whiped out when storefront updates.

And now i can just install my storefront powerpack without any conflicts with the child theme, and the adjustments i make with this powerpack pluging always will be retained (regardless if i use a child or a parent theme?).

Please let me know if understand everything correcty. Thank you!

@luctoren123 If you have included the custom CSS in the child theme, yes, you can continue to use the child theme for that specific CSS.

Installing the Powerpack will not conflict with the child theme, however, if the Powerpack and theme are both trying to modify the same element, there could be a conflict. This would be expected with any theme and a plugin that also adjust styling.

As for the settings being retained, yes, they are saved in the database.
