Stored Cookie is agains GDRP
-
Hi AddToAny Team,
first of all – AddToAny is a fantastic WP plugin.
Currently I’ve a little problem with the saved cookie you set during the visibility of the AddToAny buttons – it’s definitely agains the european GDRP law.
The GDRP law says, to store a cookie is only allowed, if the user accepts it – otherwise nothing should be stored.
Is it possible for you to modify the plugin, that the JS code, calling “static.addtoan y.com/menu/page.js” could be switched on/off with a note, that turning it on will cause maybe problems with the EU GDRP law?
Furthermore, to retain this functionality offering the user to option to paste the used code on its own?
I’m asking for the last feature, because the WP plugin “GDPR Cookie Compliance” is able to insert scripts after the user has accepted the cookies. That’s the point where I would insert the AddToAny script.
Best regards,
Mike Knappe
