Store pages 404 not found

One of the forum posts contacted me directly and after discussion paid for support. I logged in and found an issue with the environment that was mangling the permalink structures (they were running a caching plugin).

You may want to check cache plugins as well as anything doing SEO or other permalink manipulation and see if that changes the situation. I do know a number of cache apps are not very good about managing third party page types and taxonomies.

As far as the site scripting and basic functionality of SLP it all looks fine on the site, so I don’t think you are having a theme/plugin conflict or hidden error that is stopping this from working.

If you can share your theme info & plugin list I may be able to test and/or recreate on one of my test boxes, assuming your list is composed of free stuff or things I already own.

Thanks for the reply. I deactivated all plugins and no change. I am using a multisite environment for the different departments but this is currently at the root level? I can see and edit the page under Store Pages. But I can not preview the page from the editor either.

The problem lies in the rewrite rules. The answer is not pretty for some as you need to edit the database. I used PHPMyAdmin find and select “wp_options” Then locate “rewrite_rules” edit this and delete all the content.

This forces WordPress to refresh / re do the table and everything works.

WPMU is not as “clean” a setup as they would like to you to believe. Every try migrating a non-WPMU site to an WPMU install? It takes a LOT of data hacking to make it work properly. The more plugins you have the more hacking you need to do.

It has gotten a lot better but WPMU support is not as well integrated into the main WordPress engine as it should be.

Since SLP uses the built-in functions that WordPress releases to the general public it has little control over things like rewrite rules and permalinks. Store Pages uses the basis WP3.3 custom pages functions and thus is restricted to that.

That is a long way of saying “if you are using WPMU or multisite it does not surprise me that you need to tweak the data by hand”.
