Currently the store ID is generated by md5 hashing site URL. However, the will be a problem when store URL changes. For example, one of my websites changed from http to https, resulting in API failure. The Store ID can not be changed on MailChimp side, so I had to do a new store and re-sync all the data.

I am not yet sure if I lost some data (like something related to campaigns?), but will look into it.

  • Hey there Risto,

Thanks for posting. That is definitely valuable feedback that I can make a note of and pass along to our development team.

We wouldn’t expect any loss of data from disconnecting and reconnecting a new store. That being said, the MailChimp Tech Support team can dig in a bit further with your account details. Would you mind reaching out to their team through our Contact Form so they can help check into that with you? Here’s a link to that form where you can provide account details so they can investigate with you: https://mailchimp.com/contact/

If you are a paid account holder, you can also find the option for Live Chat Support on the MailChimp Knowledge Base. Here’s a guide in the Knowledge Base that goes over where you can find those different avenues of support: https://kb.mailchimp.com/accounts/management/mailchimp-support-options

All that being said, let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help out!

    Thanks,
    Malachite

    Thank you for the answer.

Is there a possibility that this plugin could be maintained at Github? I could offer a great deal of help on developing the plugin, as there a lot of things to do.

    Hey Risto,

Thanks for following up and for that feedback. You can currently find the MailChimp For WooCommerce plugin on Github at the following link:

If you have any other questions or need more help, please let us know.

    Thanks,
    Malachite
