Stopped working after wordpress 5.5 update

  • I have already gone through my other plugins and it’s not an issue with one of them causing this plugin to not work. I rolled back to the previous version 3.3.6 from 3.3.11 but 3.3.11 was working prior to the wordpress 5.5 update. The gallery slide show only shows up as text and it just says

    NextGEN Gallery
    Edit
    Delete

    Where there should be the gallery slideshow. I have deactivated it now since this is on our main homepage.

  • I have the same issue.

    It seems to load for a second or two then vanish.

    Our developers could replicate and resolve the issue so we will wrap a new urgent update that will contain this fix alongside the other resolved problems that we have found in the meantime.

    We have launched NextGen Gallery 3.3.17 that should fix the problem. Could you please update NGG to the latest version and let us know if everything works fine now?

    Many thanks for issuing the update overnight. Much anticipated and highly appreciated!

    I can confirm that this resolved the issue for myself. I had a few galleries which must have been using some legacy insertion code. After deleting this and reinserting the galleries, these galleries worked also.

    So everything seems to be fine. We have 10’s of websites which use NextGEN Gallery and I haven’t heard any feedback from customers complaining yet, so fingers crossed they’re all fine (most of these use the Classic Editor as we’ve only recently started intruding the use of the block editor).
